MANAGERS Why be a Team Manager? Managing a baseball team is a great opportunity to become involved in your child’s sport, team and club, learn more about the game and meet some amazing people and families as well! Our club has many dedicated members who volunteer to take on various roles in our club to ensure our junior and senior players can play baseball, develop their skills, participate in a team sport and enjoy being a member of Carlingford Baseball Club. Thank you for taking on the role and welcome to the team! At first it may seem there is much to do but once you establish a communication system that works best for you, your coach and your team, you will find it all falls into place and your child will love having you involved! What is involved in being a Team Manager? The managers role is one of the most important roles to fill as soon as teams are formed so you can meet your coach and begin working with them to make decisions about the team. This will include decisions about training times and days, team planning, communication options and how you can best support each other and then establish communication with all team members and their families. This is best done via an initial email to the team and a format has been created for you to help you get started! These initial emails aim to establish the foundations for a smooth and successful season. Before the first game, you will also be invited to attend the Coaches and Managers meeting where you will hear from key personnel, receive your team information/ Managers Bag and opportunities to ask any questions you may have. |
